We adopted our first Chihuahua from our friend and fellow enthusiast, Steph Kolster of Orchid Kennels. Her name is Tinkerbell and she is an adored member of our little animal family.
Currently, December 2009, we have a litter of long coated puppies available. If you want more information about them please email us at:peggy@pegkens.net
Our second Chihuahua is one of Tinkerbell's pups, Pegkens Chiqui Diva. She is pictured at left at 8 months old with her mother.

Hi Dr. Peggy,
I have been wanting to write a letter to you, to let you know how completely thrilled we are with our new Chihuahua puppy, Leilah. She is absolutely precious. My husband just said to me the other day, “Do they come any more perfect than this?” Clearly, she has won all of our hearts.
Every time we take her out, we are stopped by nearly every person that passes by. People can’t get over how adorable she is, but the thing we hear the most from strangers is that they can’t get over how calm she is. We can’t either. We have had her in our home now for two months, and I have yet to see her startled. On her second day with us, I accidentally dropped something onto our wood floors near her. I expected her to jump., since it was extremely loud. However, she calmly opened her eyes, and looked at me. Didn’t even raise her head! I was amazed. I believe that the socialization she had at your clinic as a young pup is partly what made her who she is today.
That, and of course, her wonderful parents! She is wonderful in the car, where she just sleeps in her crate or in someone’s arms. I am certain she is such a good passenger due to the many car rides she took with you to the clinic. She is also very playful, especially with our Toy Poodle. However, she knows when it’s time to rest.
Finally, thank you so much for litter-box training her! We had planned on training her that way, but didn’t expect to not have a training issue when we got her! I couldn’t believe it. In the two months that we have had her, she has had one accident outside of her litter box. At this point, she already has access to our entire kitchen and family room, and goes to her box every time. She’s also happy to go outside, but knows to use her box if we aren’t there to take her out. We’re teaching her to ring a bell to let us know when she needs to go outside, and she is figuring that out too.
So, I want to thank you again for letting us have her. We are so in love, and I know she’s really happy here too.
Take care,
Linette Hart
